What would a computer communications and networks associate degree job be?
Q. My boyfriend is going to college to get a degree in computers. He has two options either Computer Communications and Networks or Application Developement. He has a choice to get an associates degree in one of them. My question is which one would he benefit better from and what kind of jobs could he get with one of these and also what would he be doing? Like fixing computers, or what?

A. Well considering that the computer and internet industry is booming, it would seem like a good job. I think with the advantage of going to school and getting a good education, he will already be a better job competitor than many. I would personally think that building and programming computers would be better than having a job WITH computers, since anybody can do that. Good luck to you both!

Im looking for information related to hospital networks where would i look?
Q. I am trying to find out information on the networks hospitals use including connectivity of the network and how information is stored or sent to users. I would also like to know what kind of physical equipment (telecommunications) the staff uses to keep in touch. Also it would be useful to find data on the day to day routines of a hospital staff. I am trying to do this for a school project so any help would be appreciated.

Is perl a powerful programming language for building social networks?
Q. Whats perl good for? I want to create social networks but I cant seem to find whats good for making it. Ruby on Rails is impossible to configure. PHP is hard and i dont like it. IM thinking about Perl? Is it good?

A. If you choose Perl as the programming language for your site, I doubt there is anything you wouldn't be able to build for a social network site. CPAN has modules for nearly everything you can think of along the way; and since you can execute other programs within Perl scripts, anything you weren't able to code directly could be done outside of Perl in that way.
