Q. A few months ago I read a question on this site by a user who claimed they were suing Macy's for disability discrimination but I haven't heard a thing about the suit. Wouldn't such a lawsuit become national or even international news and be a voice for a new generation? Asked by PrincessKLS - Wed Dec 10 22:55:48 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Target was sued and it made national news. Likewise if Macy's was sued. Even if there was an out of court settlement there would have been some publicity beforehand unless they settled immediately - which is highly unlikely. Answered by chiliswoman - Wed Dec 10 23:11:40 2008 what do you think of not for profit news? Q. can we come up with with a model that will replace individuals/corporations profiting on the news of the day. It seems to me there is something way off, that people build , promote and foreward careers and television stations make millions on the school shootings like the one in Montreal yesterday, wars and mass deaths during natural disasters. What do you think of taking news out of the thier hands? How could we do this? it is a pretence that the news media give a damn or have any sincere concern for life and upgrading the quality of life on our planet, it is blatantly obvious that the worse the circumstances are, the gorier the story the better and more profitable it is for news media. Asked by zigzagidiot - Thu Sep 14 09:03:22 2006 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. In our world, at this time and pretty much all others, in order to provide for yourself you do have to work. The problem that this poses for journalism is not an easy one to solve. In order to be able to actually devote the time the news deserves a person is going to have to make money from reporting, or editing, or owning the printing presses. So you cannot count on people reporting the news out of purely altruistic motives. The internet and especially blogs have been hailed as a way to take news back from large media establishments and return it to the everyday man an woman. However, this has the same problems that large corporations or volunteer news has. A person must either support themselves through adds or subscriptions which means… [cont.] Answered by FormerlyMulletedWonder - Thu Sep 14 12:24:58 2006 DNC protester said, "Fox News is a corporate whore". Is there an ounce of truth to this?
Q. I have always thought of Fox News as an alternative to the more liberal CNN and network news channels, filling a niche that existed in the news industry. Is there any truth to what the protester believes that Fox News is a puppet of the corporations? Or is this completely wrong and irrational? Asked by berrytrain - Mon Aug 25 23:48:30 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think those protesters were payed well by George Soros as a smoke-screen. He hates the fact Fox news is the only television news network he does not own or control. Answered by EZMZ - Tue Aug 26 07:31:52 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "News Corporation"
