How come characters from soap operas never have to use the bathroom?
Q. I watch Passions and occasionally look at Days of Our Lives and Bold and the Beautiful and have wondered this. If soap operas are supposed to be life-like, then it should show characters using the bathroom.

A. Maybe because going to the bathroom is so everydayish, that the script writers probably think that it's not needed. But I agree a character could say they need to go to the toilet to freshen up.
